How To Back Your Stuff Up

From pictures and contacts, to notes and text messages, theres a ton of information stored on our devices that we do not want to lose. Today I’m going to explain how to backup all your stuff so you know all of your information is safe.

One of our main priorities when it comes to backing up our data is our smartphones. When deciding what’s best for you start with the internal cloud options your device gives you.

If you have an iPhone you can use the iCloud backup. It offers automatic backups as well as a pretty affordable price (as low as $12 a year). You access it by:

  • Open settings app
  • Tap on your name at the top of the screen
  • Select iCloud
  • Scroll down and select iCloud backup
  • Make sure this is turned on
  • If necessary purchase more iCloud storage

For Android users I recommend Google cloud services. This can be set up in different ways through the multiple apps Google offers such as Google photos and Google drive. To set up a full phone backup similar to an iCloud backup:

  • Open settings
  • Tap on Personal
  • Tap on Accounts & Sync
  • Select your Google account
  • Select all of the options you would like to backup

Both of these options are quick easy ways to backup the information on your phone. However some people don’t use the cloud and have security concerns with it. if you fit this description it may be best for you to look into external storage devices. These are another good option for saving anything you need from pictures to important documents. External storage pricing can vary depending on how much storage you need. External storage comes in a wide selection of capacity so it may be best to really evaluate how much storage you need before picking one of these up. These devices can be found in many places such as Walmart, Best Buy, and Amazon.

But what if you like cloud storage but want to have the ability to store information from a variety of places and want easy access to the information from anywhere? For this I recommend using a cloud storage server such as iDrive. iDrive offers many features such as encrypted storage, the ability to view your drive from multiple devices, the ability top backup and manage multiple devices, and many more. This solution offers many options when it comes to choosing the storage plan for your needs. you can start your iDrive account by simply visiting their website. iDrive isn’t the only cloud based storage server so it may also be worth checking out other similar services.

Overall backing up your information is simpler than its made out to be and can save you time and stress next time you need to recover something.
